An exciting new talent has emerged from the back alleys and bodegas of New York. Half-Egyptian, half-Irish American – AM!R is an unorthodox beast, crafting an unapologetic, electric soul sound that shrieks and grinds as much as it captivates.

With his new release ‘Design’, the closest style comparisons must be to Prince in terms of rhythm and a raunchy sexual honesty, but there’s something markedly different about AM!R’s use of percussion and digital touches – well-thought out enough to make his a truly 2016 sound, but never overpowering its style and cult suaveness. AM!R first cut his teeth writing with Sia back in 2013 – opening the door to future credits with Panic! At The Disco and Travie McCoy. A mark of how seriously he was taken even then, his preternatural talent has developed into a style that’s gotten us very excited over here.

The first release from his forthcoming EP, “Design’ is a deliciously wild ride. Snappy production, languid vocals that mark AM!R out as an operator and wildcard. Speaking on the track, AM!R states: “How can you not admire and love the design of a strong woman. And lucky for me, New York is brimming with them. One in particular caught me off guard, and this is a celebration of her: her attitude, her heart, her power. An inspiring woman.”
